EXPECTED ASPECTS OF
THE YEAR OF THE FIRE PIG

Beginning on the 18^th February 2007, the year of the Fire Pig will be strongly influenced by Fire and Water elements. These two elements represent the cycle of birth and destruction, which governs the inter-relationship between the elements; the fire element will be overcome by the water element. With the fire element sitting on water, this can symbolize conflict and struggle. This may cause a relatively less peaceful year, with more international conflicts and struggles. In 2002, the fire and water elements appeared in the same order as they do this year, and incurred the terrorist attacks of 9/11, and other global threats against world peace. The fire positioned on top in 2007 is yin (female) fire which is compared to the candle flame. The Yang Fire of 2006 was a symbol of big Fire, with the influence more openness, optimism, warmth, politeness and care.

 This Chinese year of the fire pig is influenced by the Yin fire creating tension, temperamental emotions, agitations, and illusions. The yin fire of this year can imply more world conflicts leading to civil uprisings and government unrest, causing present rulers being overthrown. The positive influence of the fire pig this year can help with new beginnings of peace and social order between feuding countries. The year of the Pig will see new regimes governing in some countries.

The Yin fire symbolizes dangerous firearms. Indicating a year where guns being used in civil and gang wars, murders, and more deaths caused by using different types of bombs.

 

The Pig is represented by the water element; the year of the Pig is the beginning of winter symbolizing the germination of plants, and the birth of a new life.  The Fire Pig is considered as a “Traveling star”.  Indicating people will want to take time out for that traveling holiday they have been putting off.

 

Anyone who is born in the years of the Snake will clash with the Pig. Therefore people born in such years have to be particularly careful in 2007. As the snake is clashing with the pig this year, the snake will experience more turbulence, movements, accidents or sudden changes of jobs or moving house. The snake presents the water element this year, which means that a clash between the water element of the Snake and fire element of the Pig can cause accidents for the people born in the year of the snake and the pig traveling by plane, trains and sea transport. Be careful about accidents related to explosions, fire disasters, and air and sea traffic accidents.  I would recommend that anyone born in the year of Snake and Pig wear or carry a pendant of a Tiger, which will help to minimize the negative influences of the year of the Pig. For anyone born in the year of Snake, traveling is good, but you should avoid traveling to places in a Northwest direction from where you live, and it is also not recommended for you to travel by sea.

 

Also facing unfavorable influences in the year of the Pig is anyone born in the year of the Pig. Any misfortune will usually be a result of one’s own faults, and as such will usually bring irritation and frustrations, such as putting in a lot of effort without any concrete achievements.   Due to the imbalance of fire and water elements brought about by the Snake and the Pig, there is an increased risk of fire and water diseases, such as blood pressure problems, heartburn, inflammation, diabetes, and kidney problems. It may be advisable to increase intake of anti-oxidant, omega 3 oil, and to concentrate on healthy eating habits, as this provides good protection against cardiovascular diseases, hyper-tension and inflammation problems. ( Always seek professional medical advice on the taking of dietary supplements. )

 

People born in the year of the Tiger, Rabbit, and the Goat are compatible with the Pig. These animals are into a year of harmony.

 

For anyone born in the year of the Rat, the Pig year will bring “The blooming of Romance”.  You can expect a busy social year, with lots of opportunities to develop friendship with the opposite sex.  People born in the years of Snake, Rooster, and Ox will see a traveling horse in the year of the Pig and will expect more traveling, movement and changes in their lives

 

The Five basic elements represent different parts of our body. Fire in general relates to blood circulation and the heart, and Yin Fire symbolizes the brain, the eyes and the nerve system. Therefore in 2007 more people will complain of heart disease, inflammation, high and low blood pressure, heart attack and stroke, or nervous breakdown, anxiety attacks, depression and insomnia as well as obesity. Everyone this year needs to pay strict attention to any health issue involving the heart, blood pressure, and mental problem.  It is recommended we need to look at  more ways to relax such as walking by the beach or taking nature walks or taking up exercises class like yoga help combat our stressful life styles. Having your eyesight checked is also recommended.  It is necessary to take more fresh fruit and vegetables, vitamin C, vitamin E, omega 3 oil etc, to combat cardiovascular diseases.

The Feng Shui energies move to different sectors of your home or office from year to year, therefore, it is necessary to acknowledge the shift of good and bad energies to different parts of your home or office at the beginning of each Chinese new year. We can then take necessary precautions if some bad energy happens to arrive at important locations of our home or office.

In the year of the Pig, the bad energy called “Five Yellow” – symbolizing obstacles and misfortune, arrives at the Northeast sector. If the northeast of your house is an important area such as bedroom or entrances, it is recommended to hang a 6-rod metal wind chime, or brass bells there to dissolve this bad energy.

The worst months will be in February, August, and November. The energies of the two star, representing illness, are in the centre of your home or office. This centre sector often reflects the focus of health problems prevailing throughout the year.  The best precaution against such a health threat is a more healthy diet, augmented with health supplements such as anti-oxidants to improve the immune system, and to hang a string of six metal coins in the affected area in the centre of your home or office. The Grand Duke energy of lots of obstacles will be found in the Northwest direction this year. It is not advisable to do any earth or construction work in the North-West direction, in the Year of the Pig. I would advise people not to sit with their back facing the West; your back will absorb the bad energies of conflict and robbery called bad star 3. The star 3 is also present in the Northwest of the house.

It is advisable to put a piece of red paper in the northwest to minimize such a bad influence. The star 7 represents scandal and gossip. To help prevent scandal and gossip involving family or people sharing the house, you will need to place 3 or 4 stems of bamboo plant grown in two clear glass vases of water in the North location.

 

The good luck star falls in the East and Southwest sectors of the home and office this year.

To enhance the prosperity of this year, you will need to place a fountain in either sector, as water, representing money, will encourage the inflow of money.  I must really emphasise the importance of de-cluttering these sectors of your house or office, as clutter can severely restrict your opportunities to prosper.

The Rat must remember to take time out to de-stress, and not to become overwhelmed. Adjusting your judgments of and attitudes towards people and philosophies will help your new projects and ideas become successful. This will be a busy year for you, and it is important to remember to work smart not hard, through good time management.
